Dr. Dietz fell in love with Veterinary Medicine when he moved out to the country in 8th grade and subsequently read a book called “All Creatures Great and Small” by James Herriott. From that point on, animals and Veterinary Medicine became a passion. He attended Veterinary School at Texas A&M University and graduated in 1989. Upon graduation he and his roommates embarked on a quest to England and visited James Harriot’s Veterinary clinic and got his autograph.
After a few years as an Associate Veterinarian Dr. Dietz opened his first clinic East Plano Animal Hospital, he owned it for 13 years until he decided to provide a similar country experience to his children and moved out to Fort Bend County. There he established Family Pet Care in 2009.
When he is not working at the clinic he enjoys spending time with his 5 beautiful children, Trey, Clarence, Winnie, Genevieve and Martin. Sara, Trey’s wife has been a joy in his life these last few years and she has brought forth his newest Love’s, Granddaughter’s Veronica and Therese.
In Veterinary School Dr. Dietz met his Fiancee Dr. Anne James. After 38 years she accepted his proposal of marriage. Besides spending time with all the Blessings in his life, Dr. Dietz likes to write, travel, birdwatch and discern God’s Will for his life so that he might become the best version of the man, father, husband, brother and friend he can possibly be.
Jason has been in the veterinary field for 27+ years as a technician and practice manager. Over the years, he’s worked in small/large general practices, as well as, specialty (surgery, emergency, ICU and dermatology) and field services. He also has experience designing and building new/existing veterinary hospitals. Building strong teams, helping others and providing excellent patient care are strong passions of his.
Jason grew up just down the street from the Brazos Bend State Park in the Needville area and has always had a strong connection with nature and animals. He enjoys traveling, cooking, trying new foods, sports and the outdoors. When Jason isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, two sons and their four dogs. Family is very important to Jason and he tries implementing that into the culture of the hospitals that he leads.
Raised in Missouri City, Texas, Matt Martin’s love for animals began while growing up with a pair of golden retrievers, Shelby and Mattie, the latter of which his parents named after him. When my parents got the goldens, Miss Mattie was a little antisocial and they didn’t pick her at first. After we left the breeder, I was in the back seat sobbing, and when my parents asked why, I told them no one could love that dog like we could, so they turned around and got her.”
After getting the chance to work as a kennel tech at his first real job, Matt’s love for animals blossomed into the career that it has become today, rising through the ranks over the years until becoming a lead technician. Matt has worked on everything from small and large animals, exotics, and has worked with several specialists including feline, rehabilitation, and oncology.
When not working, Matt can be found playing guitar, playing games on his computer, or spending time with his own golden retriever, Obi and his girlfriend Rebecca Johnson.
Winnie’s love for veterinary medicine originated from her father, Dr. Dietz. She has enjoyed helping animals for as long as she can remember, especially on the farm where she was raised, where her father greatly nurtured her passion for animals. Winnie is a devoted dog mom to her pup, Cookie, whom she spoils every day. In her spare time, Winnie loves to paint and take on creative, artsy projects.
John was born and raised in Needville, Tx and continues to live in the area. John grew up loving animals and the outdoors. When John isn’t at work, he enjoys fishing, music and dancing as some of his many hobbies. Jon is very passionate about agriculture and supporting the first responders and military.
Tammy joined our team two years ago, after retiring from a career in Accounting/Business. She assists the clinic part-time as both receptionist and vet tech assistant.
Tammy loves this new season of life, where she can work at a job she enjoys while still having time to savor retirement. As a client, she always felt there was something special about this clinic—a warm, caring, family atmosphere. Now, she feels blessed to be part of that family, where everyone supports and cares for each other, all while striving to provide excellent care for clients and patients alike.
When not at work, Tammy enjoys spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with her family.
Julie always knew she would be in the veterinary field, a passion she had since childhood. She started working in the kennel at her first veterinary hospital and has since gained experience in every department. Surprisingly, she found her niche in reception, where her customer service skills shine, and she still steps in to assist the tech team when needed. When she’s not at work, Julie spends as much time as possible with her kids when they’re in town from their newly established life in the USMC. She also enjoys hiking with her best fur-friend, Ricky, an American bulldog/Dogo mix.
