Like so many of us, I love to send out Christmas cards to friends and family with updates on the kids for some, and just to let them know I’m still alive for others.

One of my favorite clients is named Mary. I sent her a Christmas card with love and kisses to her pooches, and Christmas wishes to Mary and her husband, Bill.

The next week I received a lovely Christmas card from Mary wishing my family good tidings with a little reminder at the bottom of her card…

P.S. My husband’s name is Bob, NOT Bill.

Humiliation can be a great teacher, and I am one to embrace my failings, and if possible to magnify them.

I immediately sent her a second Christmas card with the inscription

“Dear Mary,

Did we get any Christmas cards this year?

Bill
